Forbes named the business mogul in a number of years among its wealthiest artists with his net worth estimated above $830 million. In 2014, Dre sold his Beats Electronics to Apple that earned him the largest single-year payday for any musician ever. He made a profit of about $750 million before taxes from that sell.
Dre has a lavish taste in properties. He purchased a four acre estate for $40 million in the swanky Brentwood, Calif., neighborhood of Los Angeles after Apple paid him.
Dre didn’t allow the money to cloud his creativity as he went on to create the 2015 “Straight Outta Compton” movie. The movie amassed $201 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.
